The 4 Carrot Blend
Roast Level: Light
Flavour notes: Velvety dark chocolate with hints of black cherry, plum and an undercurrent of toasted hazelnut.
Brew method: 18g used for a 1:2 ratio in a double shot. Grind size 11-13was used to yield an espresso in 25-30 seconds.
Overall opinion:
The 4 Carrot Blend is a very distinctive coffee with a lot going on in the cup. The sweetness is the first thing that stands out.
The dark chocolate comes through with a deep cocoa richness, the black cherry adds a punchy fruit sweetness, ripe plum brings a softer depth and the hazelnut gives the coffee a rounded warmth. None of the flavours feel subtle; they all demand attention in their own way. Every flavour feels bold and clearly defined which suits the name 4 Carrot Blend perfectly due to the presence of 4 strong components. That being said, mixing bold flavour notes can create an intense flavour that could be overwhelming.
However, If you enjoy coffees with bold character and sweetness that carries through to the finish, this blend definitely delivers.

️ Overall, I’d rate this blend an 6/10
I think the blend could be improved by softening the sweetness slightly and creating a smoother transition between the flavour notes. Usually, I find that less is more with coffee blends therefore pulling back on the bold fruit flavours could push this blend to the next level. That being said, this flavour combination is definitely one of a kind so I’d recommend trying it!’
