About this Product
In Brazil's Sul de Minas, the land of Fazenda Pinhal covers 914 hectares yet only a third of that land is planted with coffee. The rest is left as forest, pasture and natural reserve, the Gabarra Teixeria family have been stewards of this land since 1994.
In 2019, Fazenda Pinhal was named Brazil's most sustainable coffee farm, the same year the family completed a solar installation that now covers 100% of the farm's energy needs. On site, a bird refuge rehabilitates injured birds in partnership with local universities and ongoing research regarding employee wellbeing reflects a farm that looks after its people as well as its land.
This lot is a pulped natural. Cherries are mechanically harvested, then sorted before the ripe fruit is pulped to remove all of the mucilage. From there the coffee moves to raised patios, where it dries for 7 to 10 days with regular turning to keep the drying even.
Roasted for espresso based drinks, the tasting notes you'll find in the cup include plum, almond, caramel and dark chocolate.
