About this Product
This coffee comes from Taferi Kela, a small village in Sidamo, Ethiopia, and reaches us through Bette Buna, a family-run project whose name means “House of Coffee”. Bette Buna works directly with local farmers, helping them improve soil health, rebuild agroforestry systems, and pick only ripe cherries. That matters because ripe cherries produce better coffee, weigh more, and earn farmers a better price, including a quality premium. They also raise and distribute more than 350,000 climate-adapted seedlings every year, creating future income for farming families across the area.
The farm provides paid work for people often excluded from employment, including deaf workers, people with impairments, and single mothers.
In addition to providing a living wage for the employees, Bette Buna also provides weekly transportation to the relatively remote farm, housing, meals, and satellite education for employees' children who travel with their parents to the farm during the busy season.
Expect tasting notes of tropical fruits, bergamot, watermelon
Recommended brew methods: Espresso, filter, cafetiere, Aeropress, stovetop
