Candy Cane
About this Product
Yirgacheffe is this year’s Candy Cane offering, a vibrant, fruit-forward cup with notes of dried fig, sherry and cranberry. Naturally processed at the Lalesa drying site and grown high in the Yirgacheffe highlands (1800–2000 masl), this Ethiopian heirloom showcases everything we love about Candy Cane: bright, sweet and just a little wild. It’s a coffee that tingles the tastebuds and reminds us how exciting coffee can be.
The cherries, grown between 1800 and 2000 meters above sea level, are composed of indigenous heirloom varieties nurtured under the shade of false banana trees (Enset), a natural canopy that supports biodiversity and enriches the soil. After harvest, the fruit is floated, hand-sorted and naturally dried on raised African beds for 12–15 days, allowing the sugars to deepen and the sweetness build.
Beyond the cup, Ephtah’s work reflects a deep respect for people and place. Through their Ama Commitment initiative, they invest in women farmers, offering pre-financing, access to drying infrastructure and agronomic training that empowers both livelihoods and leadership within the community.
