About this Product
Oscar and Francisca Chacón are third-generation coffee producers in Costa Rica, renowned for their innovative approach to specialty coffee at their farm, Las Lajas.
Coffee has been at the heart of the Chacón family's work for generations, and their dedication to quality and innovation continues to shape everything they do. Among the pioneers of specialty coffee processing in Costa Rica, they were some of the first producers to champion Honey and Natural processing methods, helping to redefine the country's coffee landscape.
Alma Negra Natural Process
This is a natural process, developed by Oscar and Francisca Chacón at Las Lajas, where the coffee dries inside of a greenhouse for 2-3 days while being moved constantly. It is then transferred to raised beds during the day to dry in the sun and returned to the greenhouse at night and piled up to slow down the curing and drying process.
