About this Product
Centroamericano is the coffee most of our Costa Rica partners already know: sweet and bright, with caramel and stone fruit. The livelier of our two house coffees.
It comes from Diego Robelo at Aquiares Estate, who we’ve bought from every year since 2021. Aquiares was founded in 1890 on the slopes of the Turrialba volcano and is home to a community of around 1,800 people across 924 hectares. It was the first farm in Costa Rica to meet the Rainforest Alliance Climate Module, and it’s the site of the “Carbon-Flux” study with CIRAD and CATIE, measuring how much carbon a coffee farm can take in.
Centroamericano is a modern variety bred for both cup quality and resilience. Aquiares receives $9.90 for every kilo of green coffee, and we pay $12.30 a kilo to have it delivered to the UK.
