About this Product
Notes:
Prune / Malt Loaf / Muscovado Sugar
Description:
Cyahinda (Chah-hin-dah) is a coffee layered with comforting sweetness and remarkable depth. Expect rich notes of prune, malt loaf and muscovado sugar, delivering a syrupy, balanced cup. It is a versatile omni roast, Cyahinda brews into a full-bodied espresso and a complex rich filter.
Produced by over 600 smallholder farmers in the high-altitude hills of Nyamasheke in Rwanda's Southern Province, this fully washed Red Bourbon lot reflects generations of coffee-growing knowledge paired with modern agronomic practices. Farmers selectively hand-pick only perfectly ripe cherries before carefully processing them to preserve clarity and sweetness, with regular cupping and ongoing support from agronomists helping to maintain exceptional quality throughout the harvest.
Sustainability is at the heart of the community's approach. Coffee is grown beneath a diverse canopy of native shade trees, while recycled coffee pulp, nitrogen-fixing cover crops and carefully managed terraces enrich the soil and protect the surrounding landscape. The result is a beautifully expressive coffee that showcases both Rwanda's renowned terroir and the dedication of the farming families behind every harvest.
