About this Product
The Espresso No.1 Backstory
Espresso is not simply a method of preparation; it is a philosophy, a compression of everything coffee can be into something essential and complete. Espresso No.1 was built on that conviction, a house blend of exceptional pedigree that understands pressure, temperature and time with the authority of something that has been refined over decades of roasting in the Nairobi tradition. The coffee beans selected for this blend are drawn from origins chosen for their ability to perform under the rigours of espresso extraction, where every flaw is magnified and every virtue amplified. What appears in the cup is a shot of considerable depth: a rich, auburn crema that holds its form, aromas of dark cocoa and roasted hazelnut rising with the steam, and a flavour profile that moves from bittersweet chocolate through toasted grain to a warm, rounded finish of caramel and gentle spice. There is body here, the thick, syrupy mouthfeel that clings to the sides of a small white cup and makes you pause before taking the next sip. These coffee beans are supplied in our laminate valve-sealed 1kg bags to preserve that fresh-roast character from the moment of packing to the moment of grinding. Pull it long as an americano, short as a ristretto, steam milk through it for a flat white or cappuccino that carries real conviction, or add chocolate syrup for a spectacular mocha. Espresso No.1 does not merely perform in the machine; it excels.

Espresso Coffee Texture
Rich and clinging, with a mouthfeel so dense it pauses you before the next sip.
Coffee Palate
A warm, rounded, caramel-and-spice finish that extends long after the cup is set down.
Storage Recommendation
The Espresso No.1 stays fresher longer when:
• Store coffee beans airtight in a cool, dark cupboard – the dark roast aromatics of these espresso coffee beans are volatile and precious.
• Grind coffee beans only immediately before pulling the shot for maximum crema and aroma.
• Never freeze coffee beans – temperature fluctuation accelerates staling and damages the crema these coffee beans can produce.
