About this Product
Located just outside of Yirgacheffe, Haru is one of the first washing stations in Ethiopia. Set up in the 1970's, owner Komilachu has created a piece of Ethiopian history by bringing quality Ethiopian coffee to a worldwide audience.
Ripe cherries are hand picked and sorted to remove noticeable defects, before being pulped and allowed to briefly ferment. The parchment is then washed in clean running water, and dried to 11.5% humidity on raised beds.
TDS (total dissolved solids) and pH readings of the water at Haru are taken regularly, to better control their fermentation times and increase their consistency and quality.
Dried parchment is rested and stored locally while waiting for transport to the dry mill facilities in Addis Ababa. Once here, the parchment is hulled, laser colour sorted, and bagged for export.
