About this Product
Freshly roasted, and created in house. A medium roast coffee with sweet notes of butter, praline and golden syrup. Clean, smooth, and bright, with balanced acidity. Organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance certified.
These are not usual pods, they aren’t dark and full bodied, they are very much a light roast style pod. If you are looking for a fuller bodied coffee please try our Organic and Fairtrade Mandheling, Dark Roast Colombian or our Basic pods.

The farm
COCAFELOL is a great example of the good that being a part of a co-operative can do. They’re dedicated and focused on promoting sustainable agricultural practices, which has resulted in the production of a huge amount of natural fertilisers made from coffee husks and natural fungi, which are then given to farms free of charge. The business behind the production and distribution of fertiliser was actually created through the funding provided by the Fairtrade premium.
The Ocotepeque Department is in the west of Honduras, a very mountainous area focussing largely on agriculture. Right on the border with Guatemala and El Salvador, and surrounded by several national parks, it’s a stunning area with perfect conditions for coffee growing.
The varietals
The varietals of this coffee are an interesting mix - first, you have the really classic and popular Catuai and Caturra, both of which are versions of the famous Bourbon and are grown consistently throughout Central and South America. Added to those, however, is Pacamara - a hybrid of Pacas and Maragogype, this is generally characterised by large beans and a more floral profile.
