About this Product
From Cerrado Mineiro to the world: coffees that express tradition, science, identity and excellence in every cup ☕️
Born into a farming family and the granddaughter of Japanese immigrants, *Márcia Mayumi Tomizawa* carries with her the strength, tradition and dedication of a family who arrived in 1979 in the Cerrado Mineiro region, in the municipality of Carmo do Paranaíba, Minas Gerais, Brazil, driven by the dream of cultivating coffee and building their legacy on the land.
Raised in the heart of coffee farming, Márcia developed a deep connection with the land, her family’s work and the world of specialty coffee. Her journey brings together heritage, technical expertise and a passion for quality: she holds a degree in Agronomy and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Microbiology, an academic background that has further strengthened her work in improving the quality of the coffees produced on her family’s farm.
In recent years, she has devoted herself intensively to post-harvest quality, with a strong focus on controlled fermentation processes, meticulous handling and the application of techniques that enhance the sensory potential of each lot. Her work combines science, practical sensitivity and innovation, resulting in coffees that are increasingly complex, expressive and distinctive.
Over the past two years, Márcia has distinguished herself in important quality competitions, establishing herself as one of the standout names in Cerrado Mineiro coffee production. Among her most notable achievements are 1st place in the Cerrado Mineiro region in the Minas Gerais Coffee Quality Competition, organised by Emater-MG, in 2024, and the title of runner-up in Cerrado Mineiro in the same competition in 2025.
These achievements reflect the care, dedication and techniques she has been applying throughout the post-harvest stages, contributing significantly to the continued improvement in coffee quality. Today, her coffees are highly appreciated and valued by consumers and markets in Brazil and around the world.
In addition to her technical and production work at Fazenda São Bento, Márcia is part of Women Who Inspire, a project by CARPEC, the co-operative she is proud to belong to and which celebrates and gives visibility to women’s leadership in coffee farming, further strengthening her journey as a woman, producer and recognised reference in speciality coffee quality.
With strong roots in family tradition and a forward-looking vision grounded in innovation, Márcia Mayumi Tomizawa continues to transform knowledge into excellence, elevating the name of Cerrado Mineiro through coffees of outstanding quality, identity and purpose.
