THE PRODUCERS
Middle Ground is crafted for those who want full flavour with a gentler lift, bringing together two carefully selected 100% Arabica coffees from Brazil and Colombia, creating a balanced half-caff blend designed to deliver the flavour and quality of specialty coffee with reduced caffeine. The Brazilian component, produced by Andrea Ribeiro in the Cerrado Mineiro region, provides sweetness, body and balance, while the naturally decaffeinated Colombian coffee from Huila and Tolima contributes smooth structure, gentle sweetness and a clean finish. Together they create an approachable coffee with the depth and character expected from a full-caffeine blend.
Andrea Ribeiro is part of Café Delas, a sourcing initiative that promotes greater equality of opportunity for women coffee producers within the specialty coffee industry. Created in response to the barriers women have historically faced in accessing the same commercial opportunities, technical support and market visibility as their male counterparts, Café Delas works to help ensure women-led farms are recognised and rewarded on the quality of their coffee.
Every coffee we source is selected on quality first. By building long-term relationships with exceptional producers and sourcing through programmes such as Café Delas, we're able to roast coffees that deliver outstanding quality while supporting a more equitable and transparent specialty coffee industry.
THE COFFEE
This blend combines the chocolate sweetness and velvety body of Brazilian coffee with the clean structure and gentle brightness of Colombian EA decaf. Notes of milk chocolate form the foundation of the cup, lifted by soft berry character and a smooth hazelnut finish. Medium roasting enhances sweetness and body while preserving balance and drinkability, creating a coffee that feels complete and satisfying.
THE REGION
Coffees in this blend are sourced from Cerrado Mineiro in Brazil and the Huila and Tolima regions of Colombia. Together, these regions contribute complementary characteristics to the cup, balancing sweetness, body, and structure while maintaining a smooth and approachable profile suitable for all-day drinking.
THE PROCESS
The blend combines natural Brazilian coffee with Colombian coffee decaffeinated using the Ethyl Acetate method. This sugarcane-based decaffeination process preserves flavour integrity and cup character while reducing caffeine content. Medium roasting brings the components together, developing chocolate sweetness, syrupy body, and a smooth nutty finish.
IN THE CUP
Expect a smooth and balanced coffee with notes of milk chocolate, subtle berry sweetness, and hazelnut. Full in flavour yet gentler in caffeine impact, Middle Ground delivers a rounded and approachable cup suitable for espresso, filter, or milk-based brewing.
