Horizon is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking locations in the Southern Province. The small 3-hectare area is nestled in a valley surrounded by steep slopes. Along the walkway to the site, pineapple plants line the verges while avocado trees provide shade.
Despite its elevation of 1680 metres, the farms surrounding the station sit even higher at around 2000 metres. Within a 2km radius from the site, 1200 farmers contribute cherry to the station.
Their farms range from 100 trees to 7000, along with other crops. All 1200 farmers are members of the ATP and receive organic fertilizer consisting of recycled cherry pulp, which is fermented with lime and molasses to create EM2.
