About this Product
A single-origin, washed Christmas coffee from Kenya.
-----
Our latest African release comes from Kenya, bringing with it the classic and distinct flavour profile everyone has got to love. This coffee is grown at 1500 – 2000 M.A.S.L in the Central highlands and undergoes a traditional Kenyan washed method. Pulping, controlled fermentation and thorough washing. As with all Kenyan coffee; the green is then sorted via screen size at the dry mills to guarantee the AB quality standard.
Kenya has strict laws around coffee grading; it is a legal requirement for all green coffee to be graded before being allowed to trade. The grading system is primarily based on Bean size, Density and Shape and is not based on cup quality. Typically, within speciality coffee you will see AA, AB and PB. Whilst AA is the biggest size, the quality is not always better; other factors such as soil type, altitude, variety and processing will play a big part in the overall cup quality.
This coffee has achieved a grading of AB and has all the character of a typical Kenyan grown in this region, in the cup we are tasting Blackcurrant, Grape and Almond.

Excellent coffee and customer service
Excellent coffee and customer service, and the snacks are good compared to some coffee shops. I usually visit the Lincoln branch, which has good wifi and catch up with my admin as it's a cosy environment. One standout moment was when I lost my purse, and I couldn't remember…

I was shocked by the way the manager spoke to an employee while I was in the shop as a paying customer. Instead of treating their staff with respect, they spoke to them like they were worthless, in full view of customers. It created an uncomfortable and unpleasant atmosphere…
