Getting these cherries out of the Bukyabo region is no easy feat. The coffee is made accessible by the hustle of the Bukyabo runners - a group of nearly 400 men and women who carry the cherries on a 4km loop with a 700-metre vertical descent. Madness.
Serious autumnal notes shine through, kicking things off with a warming hit of nutmeg, followed by the sweet, tart-like punch of sultana. Everything comes together with a rich, decadent finish of dark chocolate.
Spiced, sweet and properly indulgent.
