Background
Lupili estate sits in the northern province of Zambia near the boarders with Tanzania and DR Congo. Coffee production first started in Zambia in 1982, making Zambias coffee industry just a little bit older than Green Farm Coffee!
The estate is 2171 hectares in size and sits between 1300 and 1600 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by a further 2878 hectares which are maintained as protected forest to help preserve biodiversity and watershed health.
This care which is dedicated to the land is also extended to the coffee, which is picked at peak ripeness, carefully fermented, washed, and then dried on raised beds. After this the coffee is stored in its parchment layer for six weeks to stabilise and clarify its flavours. All of which is evident in its complex, lively and enjoyable flavour profile.
