Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2 September 2026
This policy explains how Roast Radar uses cookies and similar technologies in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They help websites remember your preferences and improve your experience.
Storage We Use
Strictly Necessary Storage
We set no cookies of our own. The site keeps a few preferences in your browser's local storage so it behaves the way you left it — storage that is strictly necessary for the features you asked for, so it does not require consent under PECR.
Everything below stays on your device and is never sent to us. None of it has an expiry — it persists until you clear your site data.
- Theme preference (
darkMode) — remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode. - Sort preferences (
sortKey,sortDir) — remembers your chosen sort order. - Filter preferences (
onSaleOnly, showSourceCats, shippingFilter, showBestValue, bookmarksOnly, hiddenSellers) — remembers your active filters and any roasters you have hidden. - Layout preferences (
browseView, mobileDensity, filterPanel, highResImages, thumbnailAspect) — remembers how you like the listings displayed. - Saved items (
bookmarks) — the products you have bookmarked. - Serving size (
userCupDose) — remembers your own serving weight when you override the default used for the /cup price. - Cookie notice (
cookie-consent) — remembers that you have dismissed the cookie banner, so it is not shown again. - Guided tour (
tour-dismissed) — remembers that you have seen or closed the introductory tour.
Analytics / Tracking Cookies
We do not use any third-party analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracking service.
Our outbound click tracking uses the navigator.sendBeacon API rather than cookies. No personally identifiable information is recorded. The only third party that stores anything in your browser while you are on our pages is the map component described below.
Third-Party Cookies
When you click through to a retailer, their website may set cookies on your device. These are governed by the retailer's own cookie policy, not ours. We have no control over these cookies.
On pages that show a map, the map is rendered by Mapbox, which may store its own identifier in your browser's local storage for its usage statistics.
Managing Cookies
You can delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that clearing site data will reset your theme and sort preferences.
For more information about cookies and how to manage them, visit allaboutcookies.org.
Changes to This Policy
If we add any new cookies in the future, we will update this page and (where required by PECR) ask for your consent before setting them.
