Process: Washed and Natural

This blend brings together coffees from Zambia and Nicaragua to provide a delicious cup filled with chocolatey, nutty flavours and a hint of fruitiness.

Zambia Mount Sunzu

The Zambian beans in this blend are the Starmaya varietal, a first-generation hybrid. Grown at the foot of Zambia’s highest mountain, they benefits from perfect climatic conditions, providing exceptional quality and flavour. Processed at Mount Sunzu’s own wet mill, ripe cherries are selectively picked then pulped before being fermented for 42 hours in specially-designed water tanks. The coffee is then laid out on raised drying beds that are covered during the night, taking up to 25 days in total to dry.

Nicaragua Community Lot

Like us, our friends at Gold Mountain Coffee Growers in Nicaragua do all they can to maximise the potential of the coffee they process to optimise the return for the farmers and minimise waste.

This lot brings together beans of a number of varietals that haven’t made it into their own microlots because they were pipped to the post by the very high quality of other beans from their harvests. Despite not reaching the absolute top spot for perfection, these beans are delicious and flavour filled (and better than some producers’ best). A little flurry of fruitiness from the natural-processed beans in this lot beautifully complements the chocolatey, nuttiness of the mostly washed-processed coffee in this blend.
