About this Product
It's official, we have declared it Christmas time so get the tree out, put the lights up, and turn the kettle on because our annual Christmas blend is back, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this one with you. The 'Dolig blend is back and better than ever.
We always try and find coffees that have Christmas-like qualities to them, and this year we’re excited that they come from two of our most proud relationships as a roastery.
The first coffee that inspiried this years christmas blend is an incredible Colombian Natural coffee from one of our newest relationships here at the Roastery. Some of you might remember our Strawberry Co-ferment from earlier this year, this El Indio coffee is from the incredible team at Cofinet. The fruity tasting notes on the cupping table of Wine and Orange made us all think about the festive season and was a definate yes for this years christmas blend. Farmed in Planadas, Tolima at altitudes of between 1500m - 2150m, this coffee is hand picked ensuring that only the ripest cherries are harvested then handsorted to remove any defects. The coffee is then sundried on raised beds in temperature controlled conditions until the ideal moisture content is achieved giving this coffee the Winter Berries fruitiness we enjoyed on the cupping table.
Our second coffee then came from Falcon Coffees, importers we have worked with since day 1 here at Poblado and who we are proud to source through. Their long term work in Brazil is shown through Fazenda Pinhal a truly special Brazilian natural coffee. Fazenda Pinhal is a 914-hectare family-owned farm in Sul de Minas, Brazil, with 296 hectares dedicated to coffee. Awarded Brazil’s most sustainable coffee farm in 2019. Growing Arara, Catiguá and Catucaí, the farm uses a pulped natural process. Ripe cherries are harvested, sorted and pulped before being dried for 7–10 days with regular turning, ensuring careful and consistent processing.
When served through a Aeropress or Filter the Winter Berries and Dessert Wine aroma makes every morning smell and taste like christmas morning. When served as an Espresso based drink with milk, we taste the Trifle and caramilzed white chocolate
Whether it’s served by the tree on Christmas morning or with a mince pie after Christmas dinner, we hope that our Christmas Blend helps make your Christmas feel just a tad more special.
From the Poblado family to your family, we hope you have an incredible festive season.
