About this Product
This LIMITED EDITION Indian coffee is grown on the single estate of Ratnagiri which was established in 1920 and is now owned and operated by Ashok Patre, having been passed down from Grandfather, to father to son. A Hindi word, ‘Ratnagiri’ translates literally to ‘Pearl Mountain’, a reference to the dense silver oak canopy which crowns this farm.
Ashok, is trailblazing the way for experimental processed Indian coffees including this one, which is a newer hybrid process known as “Hydro Honey”.
After the coffee is harvested, the intact cherries are put out to partially dry on shaded raised beds. Next they’re placed in tanks of water for a re-hydration stage before being de-pulped &, similar to a honey process, dried for 31 days with most of the mucilage still attached.
Despite being a lighter roast profile this coffee still delivers major sweetness with a real cereal-milk aftertaste. Delicious under all brew methods, this coffee is a real treat to be enjoyed while stocks last.
Please note: for this particular premium coffee we have chosen to supply it in 200g only in order to keep it as accessible a price point as possible.
You’ll notice that the bags inside of this box of coffee does not have a foil lining or a plastic ventilation valve. Both of these elements are the main things that prevent commercial coffee bags being either home recyclable or home compostable. Because of this you may wish to purchase one of our reusable bag clips to secure the bag inside.
