Peru, Nehipe

From the remote Chinchipe valley, in Northern Peru's province of San Ignacio, 20 like-minded producers combine their output under the name Nehipe, a historical homage to the river & native people of the area from which they directly descend. The Nehipe River provides the water source for their coffee growing, livestock & native forests. This deep connection with the land & river is an evident part of their ethos with organic farming practices, a standard in a remote area that has always worked in tandem with the land.
