Konga — Ethiopia Heirloom
From the highlands of Yirgacheffe, this grade 1 fully washed lot comes from the Aricha Wubanchi washing station, fed by the Resitay river. After pulping, the cherries are fermented for 36-48 hours, then washed, graded by density and dried slowly on raised African beds. It’s a traditional process that brings out the clarity and precision Yirgacheffe is known for.
Grown at elevations of 1,950 to 2,050 metres, the altitude, fertile soil and Ethiopian heirloom varietals produce a cup that is bright, juicy and elegant. Expect zesty lemonade acidity, sweet apricot and tart pomegranate, finishing with a delicate floral lift. It’s a lively, refined expression of washed Yirgacheffe.
