Ethiopia coffee

641 Ethiopia coffees from 252 independent UK roasters, from £0.03.

Ethiopia is coffee’s birthplace and still its most exciting origin. Arabica grows here as thousands of indigenous “heirloom” varieties, often on tiny garden plots, giving cups no other country can match. Washed Ethiopians (classically from Yirgacheffe) are floral and tea-like — jasmine, bergamot, lemon; naturals (often from Guji or Sidama) explode with blueberry, strawberry and stone fruit. Both reward filter brewing at a lighter roast, where the aromatics survive. For UK buyers used to chocolatey blends, a natural Ethiopian is a genuine “is this even coffee?” moment. Look for a stated region and process on the bag; the good roasters always name them.
