Honduras coffee

207 Honduras coffees from 113 independent UK roasters, from £2.70.

Honduras is Central America’s largest producer and one of the best-value origins on UK shelves. Once known mainly for commodity coffee, investment in altitude-grown, carefully-processed lots has transformed its reputation. Expect an approachable, sweet cup — caramel, hazelnut, red fruit and gentle citrus — with washed lots clean and balanced and naturals leaning jammy. Regions like Marcala and Copán are worth remembering. Because the country is still climbing the speciality ladder, quality-to-price is excellent: you can drink genuinely good single-origin coffee here without a premium. A Honduran washed lot makes a reliable everyday filter, and its sweetness works well through milk in espresso.
