Grown at altitude in a small, tightly-regulated region and shipped in distinctive wooden barrels, genuine Jamaica Blue Mountain is mild, smooth and exceptionally balanced, with gentle nutty-chocolate sweetness, soft acidity and a clean finish. Its scarcity and reputation command premium prices, and the name is heavily counterfeited, so buy from UK roasters who can show provenance. It is a coffee prized for refinement and smoothness rather than bold fruit or acidity — a treat and a talking point rather than an everyday bag. If you want to try one of coffee’s legends, insist on certified origin.
